I posted something similar to this over on the EN World message boards ...but I figured I should probably post it here (i.e. on my own message board) too Basically, I have been thinking of expanding the pdf dungeon tiles further by creating a few large rooms. However, rather than drawing out a dozen different rooms of slightly different size with the entrances/exits in various places on each, I thought instead to make the rooms somewhat modular in design so that you could glue/tape several sections together to get several different configurations from just a couple of downloads. For example... this is the kind of thing I am thinking about... i.e. two more downloads that would allow you to create a wide variety of dungeon rooms of various sizes (6x5, 6x6, or 8x8) with as many entrances/exits as you please. To me this seems like a practical way to make larger rooms available ...but what do you guys think?

They look fine and it's a very practical way to make those larger rooms!
Perhaps you could also do just a Straight One Wall Side with no corners, one plain one and one with an opening centered.
Will all have two square openings or some with one square openings?

Perhaps you could also do just a Straight One Wall Side with no corners, one plain one and one with an opening centered. Indeed, tiles like that (i.e. to make really large rooms) would be next on the list of things to do, but if I manage to get the above two finished first, then they should be usable on their own (and I can expand on the set at a later date). Will all have two square openings or some with one square openings? And yeah, for now all the openings will be 2 squares wide - but I might try and come up with a counter or something to place on top of the tiles to represent a 5ft doorway or something like that.

Are you continuing to develop this welcome idea Kris?

It's still one of the multiple things on my to do list I'll definitely get round to it at some stage ...though how soon was always kinda dependant on how much interest there was for the new tiles. Maybe once my current miniatures painting fad is over, and I've finished the (somewhat lame) novelette I'm trying to write, maybe then I'll get to work on these.

Hi Kris, I can see from the site and the blog you are in one of your non-game busy periods One thing I am looking into is creating D&D film set towns. By this I mean a base floorplan for a building and then a film set like frontage that slots into it to provide the illusion of a 3D house for the players (and the figures). Once they move the figures through the front door they are on floorplans and play can continue. Now getting the building fronts is not too difficult. Dave of Dave's Games [http://www.davesgames.net/] has a range of buildings in such excellent detail that no-one could complain about them [just scroll down to Papercraft Constructions]. What is lacking is decent interior floorplans and furnishings. I've already raided your fine site for some of these but I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing some more internal floors, in the usual 5' squares? Cheers, Craig.

I'm still working on some gaming material, and I've just started contributing a 'map-a-month' to another site (which I'll post links to in August when the first map is featured) - so I am keeping busy, just not with anything that I've been able to add to the CSP site The main thing I have been working on is an attempt at mapping Beleriand in more detail - for a possible First Age Middle-Earth campaign (if that means anything to anyone). So that has been taking up a lot of my time (as I've kinda been doing a lot of research and trying to place things mentioned in the stories of The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, and the notes and information found in the numerous History of Middle Earth books). For anyone who is interested, here's the slice of the map that I am working on at the moment (though still very much a WIP): i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/hador_goldenhead/highlands_wip_02.jpgSo that is probably going to be taking up a lot of my 'mapping time' for quite some time to come (though I do like the 'film-set frontage' idea ).

Hi Kris,
As one who has every published work of JRRT in his bookshelf I applaud your effort. The map shown is clear and very close to how I imagined it.
I look forward to the link.
Cheers, Craig.

Hello Kris! I'm a new visitor to the site, and I just wanted to say that I think your dungeon tiles are amazing! Love the dungeon, buildings, caverns... everything. Thanks for making them available! Anytime you feel like making more of them, I am in favor of such a decision and will download them as soon as I know they're up.

Hello lofty First of all, thank you for the kind words (it's always good to hear that someone is actually using some of this stuff ). With regard to additional tiles ...I am actually thinking of attempting to sell my next batch (boooo! I hear you all say ) for a small amount ...mainly just to see how things would go as an electronic publisher. I recently made mention of it over on the Blog here: crookedstaff.blogspot.com/2011/04/sci-finear-future-tiles.html...and while I'm on the subject of the Blog (if you haven't already seen it), I'm still attempting to post a new dungeon map every Monday this year - which might not really be what you are looking for, but I have blown them up to battlemat scale for use with miniatures (thought they're obviously not as good as regular dungeon tiles). Anyway, thanks again for the comments.
