I have been working on modifying some of the old tiles with a new thicker border as well as changing to hex tiles from square.
Let me know what you all think about how they look. Thanks!

Hello Out There........
It looks like quite a few people have read the thread. I am curious to hear some comments or suggestions about the new designs.
Thanks!

Should be back up. Took it down to do some tweeking!
Look forward to hearing your opinion Kris.
I have already done rooms and hall mods. Just trying to figure out where to post them for best access and utility.
Most of the room tiles I have seen have prepositioned doorway or corridor access. I think that is to aid in making the pieces align. The problem with hex patterns is that they create alignment problems every time you rotate a part. So I had to come up with another way to organize them. This way the have an ajoining door stand. Miniatures would be considered to be in front, in the doorway or beyond. Areas that have half hexes would still allow a character to move through or stop in the space.
The next possible projects would include new wall outlines for wood or stucco building walls and a sci-fi scheme for both wall and tiles. I could also create the room walls seperate and leave the room area blank for others to fill in with either square or hex tiles.
I have always wanted to make small skirmish or roleplaying scenarios for groups or solo play that include the maps, paper figs and storyline. The player just has to provide the ruleset they prefer.

Looks pretty good. I like what you have done with the walls.
Do you have an example of a simple layout?
Yeah, I really don't know why games companies don't do this kinda thing more often, as I think it would prove rather popular/useful.

Thanks Kris,
I have posted a sample of some 3x4 rooms here:
But I would like to be able to create a workspace where we all could work together and could post large amounts of tile graphics. I will created a Yahoo Group with your approval.
It requires membership and will be moderated.
Please let me know if this idea is acceptable to you or not.
As far as the samples go, I'd like to hear from the rest of you what you think also. Thanks!

No problem at all. When I put the tile-set together (seems like an age ago now), the whole point was for folks to do with it whatever they liked (so long as it was for non-commercial use). So as long as there is a little note someplace saying where you got them, then do with them what you will

Thanks for the invite.
Right now I'm working on some maps for a upcoming free project with LichHaven games (which is taking up a lot of my spare time), so I'll probably put off joining the group until I know I can actually contribute something.

Hi Kris,
You may have gotten the impression that I don't plan to offer the art for free. My intent is to make it available after the intitial protect collaboration is complete. That's why I changed the group name to Project.
My point for doing it in this manner is to keep it a small group of people who actually want to work together on this specific idea. Once our efforts are done we can modify the groups for other access. I have found that there are not many on the internet who actually have the time, capabilities and desire to make free work for others. I'd like to help reward those that do (such as yourself) and entice others to take the leap as well. At the same time I want to keep detractors at arms reach so the project has time to grow.
Gaming is a wonderful hobby and my goal, as always is to try to make it more fun and accessable to others.
I'm also look forward to seeing whatever new work you do on LichHave!

Sorry, that was not what I meant at all I just highlighted the 'free' part of my post, as LichHaven Games do have some products for sale... however I've been working on the maps for a module that will be given away as part of their free eCommunity. Sorry for the confusion - all I was doing was explaining that I'm a little busy right now - hence me not joining the group yet as I'm already tied up with other free projects

Hi Kris,
Totally inderstand, thanks for your clarification. Just wanted you to know that you need not be active. You have already done enough work and were kind enough to share it with us! I figured you should be an honorary member. Ie get to lay back and enjoy the creativity you have unleashed.
To everyone else, The group is up and running! Look forward to seeing your creative talents there.
Best regards and Happy Holidays, Historygamer2
