I like the idea of playing a Human (with 3-4 FP). I can understand Fate Points being useful during life threatening situations. I would be more eager to engage in combat knowing I have a few FP to counter any major wounds that might occur. Amassing fate points is not all that difficult (with a reward of 0-4 being awarded to a player each adventure) So, assuming a player takes part in an adventure (even one with little combat) one FP reward is pretty much guaranteed (and more are available if/she plays particularly heroically etc.). I also agree that something needs to be done about Dwarves low SIZ . An average dwarf (CON 18 / SIZ 10) will have 14 HP (i.e. one more than a human). AoS dwarves are smaller than humans - there is no getting away from that fact, but the only things SIZ effects is HP (and therefore MWL), damage modifier, and encumbrance... ...a low HP is avoided by a dwarf's high CON ...damage mod could be offset with the proposed ruling above ...encumbrance is offset by dwarves ignoring overloading penalties Hope that makes sense

Sorry, typing too fast. Meant CON+SIZ, not STR+SIZ.

I can see that the Dwarves 1D6+6 SIZ is compensated by the 3D6+6 CON. Does seem OK. Although Elf (2D6+6, min 8), and Human (3D6, min 3), seems to make the Human's a little frailer in the start.

Remember, all die rolls of '1' are re-relled when generating a character, so stats will never be any lower than 6 (though 6 is still pretty bad, but nowhere near as pathetic as 3 ).

Well I never liked game balanced characters, life isn't balanced in the first place, deal with it. Secondly you still left out Hobbits....hummm.

Taking my friends advice (Ade), our house rule for rolling up human, elf & dwarf is this: STR/CON/DEX/POW/CHA: 3d6, SIZ/INT: 2d6+6. Elf: -2CON/+2 DEX. Dwarf: +2 STR/-2 DEX, +4 CON/-4 SIZ, +1 category damage (+0 would be +1d4). Anyone feel free to use this or not.
